The Masters in Development Practice (MDP)

The Masters in Development Practice (MDP) is an intensive one-year (full time) or

two-year (part-time) program designed for sustainable development practitioners and

leaders. The curriculum is multidisciplinary with competencies in the health sciences,

natural resources sciences, social sciences and management and incorporates essential

development skills and a capstone project.

MDP graduates pursue careers with government ministries and agencies, the

private sector, local, regional, and international development-based NGOs, the United

Nations, and are also entrepreneurs and consultants.

 

 

Credits: Thirty Three (33)

A blended approach with online (synchronous and asynchronous) and face-to-face

Admission Requirements
  • Completed application form and fee
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher with a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • A minimum of two years full-time work experience in sustainable development 
  • Two references (one from an academic source)
  • One recent passport-size photograph in color (within the last six months)
  • Resume 
  • Personal statement
  • An admissions interview

The Certificate in Development Practice (CDP)

The Certificate in Development Practice (CDP) consists of 15 credits and is designed to attract individuals seeking micro-credentials in the sustainable development field. The credits earned in the CDP programme are transferable to the MDP programme.  

 

Credits: Fifteen (15)

A blended approach with online (synchronous and asynchronous) and face-to-face

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher with a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • A minimum of two years full-time work experience in the sustainable development
  • One reference from an academic source
  • One recent passport-size photograph in color (within the last six months)
